Meet the Founder

When I was 22, my dad passed away suddenly. Left with immense grief, my siblings and I had to plan and pay for a simple cremation because we couldn't afford a traditional funeral. He was a single father for most of my life and this experience left us feeling that we hadn't given him the farewell he truly deserved.

Over the years, I witnessed friends and acquaintances lose loved ones, and I constantly told myself, "I should be doing more." Buying flowers felt insufficient, but I didn't know how else to help. This personal experience inspired me to create GiveWillow - A platform designed to prevent others from facing the same hardships my family did.

This allows community to provide meaningful, practical help when it’s needed most.

How long does it take to create a funeral registry?

Setting up a GiveWillow Registry only takes about 10-15 minutes. Our pre-designed templates make it simple to create a personalized registry tailored to your loved one’s arrangements.

Can I customize the items in my Funeral Registry?

Yes, GiveWillow allows you to fully customize your loved one’s Funeral Registry. Our templates provide a great starting point, but you’re free to personalize them as needed.

What are the fees for using GiveWillow?

Creating a registry on GiveWillow is completely free for organizers. Contributors (folks who are sending you gifts) pay a small fee at checkout to support our platform and payment processing.

At checkout, a GiveWillow fee of 1.5% and a standard payment processing fee of 2.90% + $0.30 per transaction (charged by Stripe) are added to the contribution amount. This ensures that the full contribution goes directly to the registry while covering platform and payment processing costs.

For example:

If a contributor wants to contribute $100 towards a registry, the GiveWillow fee is $1.5.
Stripe’s processing fee is $2.9 + $0.30 = $3.2.
The total amount the contributor pays is $104.7, ensuring the full $100 reaches the registry..

This fee structure ensures transparency and allows Funeral Registries to receive contributions in full without any deductions.
